A Picture Says a Thousand Words
Our college school year in pictures ;) The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Good morning and happy Sunday!
Well, we are done with school, and Blakely is officially done. Forever. It hasn’t hit her yet, but it will soon enough. We started this newsletter during the first week of school, wayyy back in August. We honestly didn’t plan on ever starting a publication like this, but it just kind of fell into place. We had no idea how much we would love writing to you all every Sunday, and we’re already dreaming up ways to ramp up Madison Spain Club this summer :)
We have an exciting week ahead. Blakely is going to Colorado and I am going to California and Oregon. We are each heading off on our respective adventures, and we can’t wait to give you all a recap next week.
For this newsletter, we thought it would be fun to share some of our most frequent (and iconic) semester photos. Last week we talked about what we learned, and this week we are getting ~ casual ~ and showing you how we actually spent our days/weeks/months. LOL.
Some themes were:
Lots and lots (and lots) of dinners together. Savannah took it upon herself to take photos of me when I am completely caught off guard, so here is a fun and mortifying exposé of our meals together.
Gilmore Girls most every night. Rory and Loreli got us through this semester. But truly LOL. We feel very connected to them by this point.
Picking up Morsel pastries. As you can see, we love our Morsel pastries. We’ve become regulars at a few different coffee shops where Laura delivers. Savannah’s favorite is the banana chocolate chip muffin, and my favorite is the peanut butter bundt cake. If you have ever visited us in Nashville, then you have probably tried Morsel :)
Failing at life. I got shit on by a bird on the way to my first class of the school year. At that moment in time, I took it as a bad omen and seriously considered that I just abort mission and drop out as a senior. But alas, we made it.
Savannah *used* to have this super cute, soft, chunky, OVERSIZED white sweater. Like, it was a big turtleneck—baggy and everything. Imagine our surprise when she pulled it out of the dryer to find that it was the size of a toddler’s sweater. LOL we died over it.
Hanging out with the hermits. If you listen to us on our friend and honorary Hermit member Cail’s podcast, Sunday Questions, you will know about the Hermits. Our favorite little club hehe. (Also, if you want to know more about our college experience and living a self-proclaimed “unconventional” life, then you should listen to this episode!!)
Lots of Zoom calls.
While we have been workin’ in school, we’ve also been workin’ outside of school. The time has almost come for us to reveal our secret little project to you all, and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been building :)
Taking classes together. If you’re an OG newsletter reader, then you’ll remember our dreaded Biodiversity of Plants class that we took together. Lots of walking to class together and reviewing the biodiversity of Madagascar 😘
The year of the latte. We realized that no one can make a better cup of coffee than we can. The latte art part of it, however, has been a work in progress (see it yet?? LOL). It was rough in the beginning, but we have emerged triumphant.
Adding a member to our family. While Blakely and I are not typical sorority girls (or the most involved), we do love our family. Getting my little was definitely a highlight of the semester.
Traveling. Very often. Planes, trains, and automobiles, baby.
And now for more planes :) See you guys next week!
